Rose tells us the about Jan Broberg who was kidnapped twice at the ages of twelve and fourteen by a "family friend" who convinced her that she would be vaporized by aliens if she didn't do what he said. Jan has used her story to help other young children, as well as parents, to look for warning signs she and her family once missed.
Then Lynn tells us about another badass woman! Madame C.J. Walker was born free into a family of former slaves. Throughout her life she was determined to make enough money to afford her daughter a proper education. Her determination paid off when she created a homemade remedy that helped her hair regrow after suffering a scalp condition.
Thus, giving her the title of America’s first Black female self-made millionaire.
